Inscription
This plaque was taken from the George Inn in High Street, Old Portsmouth. Admiral Nelson was a frequent visitor to Portsmouth because it was such an important Naval base. Most High-ranking officers stayed or ate at the George which was destroyed by German bombs in 1940.
