Further Information
The Royal George Gun is a British 24 pounder Brass Muzzle Loader on a naval truck carriage and it is on loan from the Royal Armouries, Tower of London. It weighs just over 51cwt and was made by A. Schalch in 1743. The gun displays the coats of arms of both King George II and the Duke of Montague who was Master General of Ordnance from 1740-1749.
