Information
40 (RM) Commando was raised at Deal on 14th February 1942. It took heavy casualties in the Dieppe Landings of August 1942. They were brought up to strength and served in Sicily, Italy and the Adriatic. Later they were involved in operations in Corfu and North Italy.
It was disbanded in 1946.
