Further Information
Each side of the memorial has at least one small engraved plaque inset into it's surface. These were created by the University of Portsmouth, School of Art, Design and Media. They depict various activities that the men and women of Portsmouth would have been involved in during the war (see below). The photographs below were taken immediately after one of the memorial's regular cleaning sessions.
