IN A COURSE OF SERVICE WHICH INVOLVED
a circuit of the entire globe, the officers
of HMS Pylades, mourned the loss by premature
death of the following of their shipmates
LIEUT JOHN DAWSON HOPE RMA
who died at Calcutta July 5th 1858
Aged 21 years
THE REVD ANDREW LE BROCQ
who died on his homeward passage Sept 19th 1858
Aged 33 years
ALEXANDER JEFFREYS Esq PAY MR
who died at Vancouver Island April 25th 1859
 
In sincere sorrow for their untimely deaths
this small tribute of affection is erected by
their brother officers in testimony of their
worth.
