Florence was the daughter of Joseph Moses Levy who was born on 15 December 1811. He was the son of Moses Lionel Levy and Leah (?). He married Esther Cohen, daughter of Godfrey Alexander Cohen, in 1830. He died on 13 October 1888 at age 76. Joseph Moses Levy held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.). He was the founder of the Daily Telegraph.
Florence Levy married William Owen Lanyon on 2/8/1882. There is a memorial to Colonel Sir William Owen Lanyon adjacent to the one for Florence.
