"The window is a unique picture of the dockyard as it appeared just after VE Day in August 1945 and (Hugh) Easton's trademark signature can be seen at the bottom of the clear glass on the right hand side. In the order of service for the unveiling and dedication........Hugh Easton provided a description of its theme:
The stained and painted glass of the window represents the Resurrected and Ascended Christ, triumphant, and with His right hand raised in traditional blessing upon the Dockyard, which stretches out below in all its impressive dignity. Our Lord is shown beardless, ever young, wise and supreme - in fact in Tennyson's words the 'strong Son of God, immortal Love'. Beyond the vast area of buildings, cranes, ships and docks can be seen H.M.S. Vanguard, an aircraft carrier and almost every type of ship and appropriately, in the centre of the Dockyard is H.M.S. Victory."
