"MAJESTIC" AT SEA, ON HIS PASSAGE FROM THE
WEST INDIES, ON THE 14TH DAY OF JUNE
IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD, 1796, AGED 76 YEARS

A biography of Sir John Laforey appears in Wikipedia. He seems to have had no direct association with Portsmouth other than that he was buried in the church having died en route to England from the West Indies.
