Captain Hatchell, 43rd Light Infantry, was engaged in the suppression of the mutiny 1857-8. Medal; also highly distinguished himself by his gallantry during the New Zealand War, 1864-5, Medal. Accidentally drowned in Cork Harbour October 11th 1870, aged 33 years.
