Location

The plaque is on the back wall on the north (left) wall near the corner. It was previously on one of the pillars in the nave. During the bombing that destroyed the nave it was struck by a piece of shrapnel. The dent it caused can still be seen.

The Colours referred to are no longer hanging in the church having probably been severely damaged during the bombing in 1941.
 
The 67th (South Hampshire) Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1758 and amalgamated into The Hampshire Regiment in 1881.
 
The regiment was raised by the redesignation of the 2nd Battalion, 20th Regiment of Foot in April 1758, ranked as the 67th Regiment of Foot. In 1782 they took a county title as the 67th (South Hampshire) Regiment of Foot.
