PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR IN FORMER TIMES, WAS
BLOWN DOWN IN THE GALES OF DECEMBER 1954,
WAS RESTORED IN 1958 BY MEMBERS OF
THE CATHEDRAL BUSINESS MENS COMMITTEE
AND NOW RESTS HERE AS A
REMINDER OF PAST GLORIES AND A CHALLENGE
TO US TO MAINTAIN AND CARE FOR THIS ANCIENT
BUILDING, STILL INCOMPLETE, WHICH AS THE
CATHEDRAL OF THE DIOCESE OF PORTSMOUTH
SEEKS TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF THESE DAYS
