The Marks
Further Information
During the building of the west end of the cathedral in 1991 a stone arrived from the quarry with one of its faces smooth rather than tooled. It was agreed that the men working on the structure could leave their marks upon it. They were:-
Edward Andrews (Manager)
Brian Bachelor (Master Mason)
Richard Martin (Foreman Bricklayer)
Alan Hobbs (Bricklayer)
George Wilkinson (Bricklayer)
Peter Musslewhite (Labourer)
