Further Information
Captain William Gordon Morgan Sparrow was attached to the King's African Rifles when he was killed in action. He was the only son of Lt. Col. W. G. Sparrow, O.B.E. (Royal Marines) and Mrs. W. G. Sparrow, of 13, Craneswater Avenue, Southsea, England. He is buried at Iringa Cemetery, Tanzania which is on the top of a mountain, 505 kilometres west of Dar-Es-Salaam. The CWGC list him as casualty No. 124689.
