RN Memorial, Plymouth - 3

HMS Monmouth was manned primarily from the port division of Plymouth. Thus 672 of her 738 dead are recorded here.

Lewis Adlam was 40; he and his wife Annie Lilian lived at Radway Meadow, Sidmouth, Devon.

George Howard Axworthy, 26, was the son of William Axworthy, of Rock Cottage, Lower Hooe, Plymouth.

Leonard Charles Mudge Bailey - no data known.

Charles Henry Ballard, 29, son of Thomas Henry Ballard, of Comer House, Great Totham, Witham, Essex, and the late Eliza Ballard.

Most of the others in this random sample are Monmouth names too. The rest are from other 1914 losses.

But Denis O'Brien is not named on this memorial.
