Further Information
This memorial was originally sited on the Esplanade near Southsea Castle and was moved to it's current location, opposite to what was then the Officers' Mess of Victoria Barracks, in 1921, at the request of a Major James D.O.R.E. It was restored by Portsmouth City Council in 2012.
