Location

According to the 1873 Guide to the Church this memorial was originally sited in the North Transept, an area now largely occupied by the organ. It is believed that the memorial remains in situ behind the organ.

THIS TABLET IS ERECTED IN MEMORY OF JOHN SINCLAIR, M.D. LATE ASSISTANT SURGEON OF H.M.S. "EXCELLENT," BY THE OFFICERS OF THAT SHIP, AS A TOKEN OF THEIR GREAT REGARD AND ESTEEM. HE DIED OCTOBER THE 25TH, 1840, AGED 28 YEARS.
