Further Information
Robertson Fernie was born in Stranraer, Wigtown, Scotland on 9 Oct 1842 to Henry Fernie and Jane Hood. He married Edith Frances Hawkes in December 1873 in Epsom, Surrey; she was the daughter of Robert James Hawkes and Ann Harrison and was born 5 May 1851 in London. She died 4 December 1927 and was buried in Highland Road Cemetery, Southsea. They had 2 children, Ethel (b. 12/12/1875) and Ralph (b. 07/06/1880). Robertson passed away on 4 Jun 1885 (not the 3rd as shown on the plaque) in Portsea Island, Hampshire, England. At the 1881 Census he is listed as living at St. Helen's on the Isle of Wight where his occupation was recorded as Ship Owner.
 
The four quarters of the window represent the Visit of the Wise Men, the Flight into Egypt, the Visit of the Queen of Sheba to Soloman and the Sale of Joseph to the Ishmaelites.
