Memorial to William Brandon
Inscription
In hopes of a joyful Resurrection to eternal life thro
JESUS CHRIST
Near these walls rest the remains of WILLIAM BRANDON, Esq.
heretofore Agent Victualler at the PORT
Who in the year 1702 served the office of MAYOR
and in the following year gave the CHIMES to this CHURCH
And departed this life in the Year 1705. He married ANN
Daughter of Sir WILLIAM BROADNAX of Godmersham in Kent
By whom he had issue
BROADNAX, THOMAS CHARLES. MARY now living which
BROADNAX Married CHARLOTTE the youngest daughter of the
right Honourable Sir Edward Ward, heretofore LORD
Chief Baron of his MAJESTY'S Court of exchequer at
WESTMINSTER, by whom he had issue, EDWARD PHILIP, GRACE
which PHILIP caused this Monument to be Erected to the Memory
of his Grandfather, in the Year of our LORD 1794
